Programs Supported by DSAJ
Computer Tutoring:
Individualized computer instruction is offered at Great Strides Rehabilitation and Hope Haven Children's Clinic and Family Center for ages 16 months to 21 years. This is available through a grant from the Lucy Gooding Charitable Trust. The Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville will fund 2/3 of the cost.

Speech Therapy:
Speech therapy is funded at 50% by DSAJ at the following centers: Hope Haven Children’s Clinic and Family Center, Coastal Learning Center in Ponte Vedra, Great Strides Rehabilitation in Mandarin, and The Language Learning Center in Kingsland, GA. Click here for more information.

Support Group Newborn to Age 5 – Lil’ Stars:
The Lil' Stars is a group geared towards parents expecting a baby with Down syndrome and parents of children that are newborn to age five. This group meets once a month to share ideas, information and make friendships. The meetings are informal and often include a guest speaker on topics of interest. Support Group Ages 6–12 – Shining Stars:

Support Group Ages 16-25 – Young Adult Group:
DSAJ's Young Adult Group is an awesome group of friends. We provide a safe, supervised way for young adults with Down syndrome to meet and enjoy each other's company while participating in a range of activities. Support Group Ages 26 and up – Adult Group:
The purpose of this group is to provide social opportunities within the community for friendships to develop. Monthly events will be planned and sponsored by the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville.

Parent and Professional Resource Library:
This library is housed at the DSAJ office, 1050 North Davis Street, Jacksonville, FL 32209 The information here is to educate the parents and professionals and provide them with current data, research and other documentation to assist families. Library materials may be borrowed and checked out.

Soccer Program:
The Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville soccer team is a great tool for exercise and parent involvement. The season starts in October and the team meets each Saturday at 9AM. Contact Elise Nowikowski at 904.398.8274 for more information.
