18th Annual DSAJ Buddy Walk Recap

A special message from DSAJ Executive Director Debbie Revels:

“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to every single person who made this year’s Buddy Walk one for the record books! And I am not just talking about the immense generosity we’ve seen displayed during these especially difficult times.

Our Buddy Walk could also be measured by enthusiasm, love and kindness – all of which resulted in our community gaining a deeper understanding of the VALUE of our loved ones with Down syndrome and the incredible ABILITIES and GIFTS they possess.

Our staff and families were challenged to ensure the spirit of our traditional large-scale Buddy Walk on the beach was kept alive by hosting more than 100 socially distanced gatherings across the city. Y’all – that is just NOT easy!

But here we are… more than $230,000 later and a whopping 3,000 participants! While we’re still running the meter to try and hit our $255,000 goal, I felt it was important to stop and appreciate where we are in this very moment.
